Greatest Tours On the Island
Thursday, 15 July 2010

Hi Marco,

The two tours were wonderful and the sites seen are indescribable. We had a great experience and amazing tour guide that spoke 5 languages! We learned so much about Madeira and really made the trip a learning and fun vacationing experience.

For those about to visit the island definately use this agency to book your siteseeing tours. They have the best prices, the tour is VERY personalized, the bus is AC, and the tour guides are friendly and knowledgeable. Your money will be very well spent on these tours.

It was worth every penny!

Thanks,

Matthew and Manuela Costa

Madeira island North tour - Full day mini coach excursions

We would like to share with our guests the description of our “Go North” island tour and the emotion when we talk about Madeira island.
Regarding the island tour “Go North”, we shall pick you up directly from your accommodation in the morning and drive straight to São Vicente village where the excursion really starts. There is an optional visit to the vulcanic caves which is not included in the price of the tour, however, Madeira Happy Tours has a special price for the entry in the caves for our guests which is €6 per person and it is charged separately to our guests. The duration of the visit to the caves lasts approximately one hour and ten minutes and consists of going through the lava channels with a guide. At the end there is an exhibition of how the island was formed thousands of years ago and they introduce as well a film of about ten minutes to show the different stages of the creation of Madeira island.
We shall then, drive towards the viewpoint overlooking Ponta Delgada village to admire the landscape and the Atlantic Ocean, from Ponta Delgada the excursion continues towards Arco São Jorge where there is a wonderful rose garden in Quinta do Arco with more than one thousand species of different roses. The entry to the rose gardens is not included, therefore, it is not compulsory for our guests to visit it. The visit to the rose gardens takes about 30 minutes.
Afterwards, the roses perfume is left behind to drive up to the mountains in the viewpoint of São Jorge where the scenery is breathtaking and an excellent spot for photographs.
By then it will be the time to arrange a restaurant for the meals of our guests, which is not included. We do not involve ourselves directly with the food of our guests, nevertheless, there is roughly one hour and thirty minutes for lunch and you may chose whatever you wish. The break for lunch can be either in Santana, Faial or Porto da Cruz village, depending of the time spent in the caves and in the rose gardens.
We shall have some time spent in Porto da Cruz village to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and head afterwards to the viewpoint overlooking Machico town, where one can see the East end of the island and the airport where you shall land on your arrival in the other side.
The last break before you return to Funchal city shall be in one of our favourite villages on the Southeast part of Madeira island, which is Santa Cruz. In the village there is a promenade by the sea from one end to the other one with palm trees and the clean pedestrian streets in the center of Santa Cruz makes it so pleasant to walk around. Surrounding the gardens there is an impressive church to visit and one can feel the laid back atmosphere typical of our country side villages.
Finally, the last highlight of your island tour shall be the astonishing airport of us, built in the shape of an aircraft carrier over the sea. It is a majestic work of the Portuguese civil engineering and worth the adventure to spent your holidays in our precious Madeira island in the company of Madeira Happy Tours.
Itinerary: Funchal – São Vicente – Ponta Delgada – Arco São Jorge – São Jorge – Porto da Cruz – Machico – Santa Cruz – Funchal
Departure: 09:00 & Returns between 16:30 until 17:00
